Nova Setup Guide

Installer mode​

Some advanced system settings can only be accessed when logged in as an installer. Before you can log in, you must register as an installer to receive your unique installer code. To enter installer mode:

  • Select MENU → Settings
  • Scroll down and tap on Installer
  • Enter installer code and tap on Submit

Nova settings​

From the Nova wall controller navigation bar, tap on MENU → Settings.

  1. Home Screen
    • Assign Photo - Upload a custom image to display on the home screen (refer to the Image Specifications). It is recommended that the homeowner uses the iZone Home mobile app to upload the image. Once uploaded, go to the Nova wall controller and select MENU → Settings → Home Screen, then scroll down and tap Sync from Owner.
    • Name - The name assigned to the wall controller. This name appears under CATEGORIES → Wall Controller in the iZone Home mobile application.
    • Systems - Allows you to hide the AC unit from the home screen by deselecting it. You can also reorder how systems appear on the home screen.
    • Pinned Devices - Adjust the order in which pinned devices appear on the home screen.
    • Pinned Scenes - Adjust the order of pinned scene shortcuts on the home screen.
    • Hide Pinned Scenes - Hide the entire Pinned Scenes section from the home screen.
    • Filter Pinned by Systems - When enabled, pinned devices will appear under the selected AC system when swiping left or right on the home screen. When disabled, pinned devices remain in a fixed position regardless of the selected system.
    • Single Device Homepage - Displays only the AC unit controls (mode, fan speed, on/off). This option is used when no zones are installed. You can also choose to show a single zone controller, which is used when the Nova is installed in a single zone configuration.
  2. Wi-Fi - Enter details of the same Wi-Fi network where the Smart Hub is connected to. If you have a mesh network and a router network, make sure that the tablet Wi-Fi network and the Smart Hub are both on the same network.
  3. Nova Services
    • Controller Version Number — Displays the full Nova software image version, which includes the operating system, the iZone Home mobile application and all background services.
    • Installer Contact Information — Shows the contact details associated with the installer code. This information is automatically downloaded to the tablet when the system goes online.
    • Remote Support — Allows iZone support agents to remotely access the system for troubleshooting and assistance.
    • Diagnostic Log — Uploads diagnostic logs to the iZone cloud server to assist with support investigations.
    • OS Settings — Provides a shortcut to the underlying Android operating system settings.
    • Keep Front — Ensures the iZone Home app remains in focus and prevents other apps from taking priority.
    • Nova Camera — Enables or disables the front camera.
    • FM Radio - Not used

  5. Terms & Privacy Policy — Shortcut to iZone's Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
  6. Installer — Tap Installer to enter installer mode when you need to change installer‑specific settings.
  7. Diagnostics — Provides diagnostic information about the local network. Useful for troubleshooting communication or connectivity issues.
  8. Clean Cache — Clears the Android application cache and restarts the iZone Home app.
  9. Accessible — Switches the interface to the accessible UI layout.
  10. Ver #.#.# — Displays the version number of the iZone Home app

System Settings​

From the Nova wall controller navigation bar, tap on MENU → Settings → Systems Settings → Tap on the blue Settings button..

AC Unit Settings​

  1. Name - AC unit name e.g. Upstairs / 4 Gain Str
  2. Category - Airconditioning category
  3. Room - Pin AC unit to a custom room
  4. Hub - Shortcut to the settings of the Smart Hub that is paired to this AC CPU module.
  5. Number of Zones - Number of zones in a home (including the constant zone)
  6. Number of Constants - Number of constant zones, normally 1 for electronic constant or 0 for fixed constant. Read more
  7. Manufacturer - Default is 'Auto Detect'. If the AC brand is visible, it means that the CPU module did manage to communicate with the C325# module.
  8. Control Sensor - Refer to the AC unit control section for a detailed explanation
  9. AC Unit Status -
    • If OK: iZone is communicating with the AC unit.
    • No Comms: iZone is not communicating with the AC unit. Check cabling, the C325 module connection or power to the indoor unit.
    • ###: Displays the AC unit's error code as reported by the AC system.
  10. Zone Damper Status - Lists the current status of the all zone dampers connected the CPU module. It shows if damper motors are connected and it also shows the percentage that each damper motor is open (e.g. fully open = 100%)
  11. Fan Auto - Hide/unhide the Fan Auto selector when changing fan speeds. Read more
    • Unit Capacity - AC Unit's fan capacity to be used within the Fan Auto speed calculation.
    • Fan Capacity - This airflow is derived from the Unit Capacity entry.
    • Fan Speed Type - Not used
    • Set Zone Areas - Enter area of each zone.
  12. Manual Fan Speed Disable - Only fan auto will be enabled. A user cannot change fan speed manually if enabled.
  13. Filter Inspect - Default is 3 months. Read more
  14. Lock Temperatures - Default is ON. Read more
  15. Scrooge - Default is OFF. Read more
  16. Use Induct Energy - Default is OFF. Read more
  17. Auto mode dead band - Default is 1.5°C. Read more
  18. Hide Actual Temp - Default is OFF
  19. Hide Induct Temp - Default is OFF
  20. Lock Zone Names - Default is OFF. Prevent user from changing zone names
  21. Lock Airflow - Default is OFF.
  22. Lock Min Airflow - Default is OFF. Read more
  23. Hide Zone Open - Default is OFF. Only show CLIMATE|CLOSE or OPEN|CLOSE for every zone when enabled. When disabled, a user will see three options OPEN|CLOSE|CLIMATE.
  24. Wired Sensor LED - Default is OFF. Read more
  25. Advanced Constant Control - Default is OFF. Read more
  26. Static Pressure - Change the static pressure of the indoor unit. This is only available on selected AC brands.
  27. Unit Auto Off - Default is ON. Read more
  28. AC On With Zone - Default is OFF. When ON: The AC unit will turn on when a zone is activated via wall controller or zone temperature reader. When OFF: The AC will not turn on when a zone is activated.
  29. Damper Timing - Default is AUTO. Read more
  30. Reverse Dampers - Default is OFF. Read more
  31. Open Damper When Off - Default is OFF. Read more
  32. Zone Group - The ability to group zones and control them as a single zone. Select the two or zones and tap on Group
  33. Skip Zone Ports - Enables a technician to skip a port on the screen. Read more

  37. System Lock Out - Default is OFF. Read more
  38. Restart CPU - Restart CPU (C225) module.

Zone Settings​

  1. Name - Custom name for a zone (maximum 9-digits)
  2. Category - Always Airconditioning
  3. Room - Pin/unpin a zone from a user defined room.
  4. Pin to home screen - Pin/unpin a zone from the home screen.
  5. Damper Status - The current status of a damper motor (e.g. 100% if open and 0% if closed)
  6. Group - Indicates if this zone is grouped with another zone
  7. Hub - Shortcut to the hub that this zone is linked to.
  8. Zone type - Default is Open/Close. Read more
  9. Calibration - Calibrate a temperature sensor by increasing/decreasing the actual value of a sensor by X °C on the screen.
  10. Zone Area - The area of the zone in m2. This value is used in for the Fan Auto calculation and Advanced Constant Control.
  11. Max Air Balance - Default is 100%. Read more
  12. Min Air Balance - Default is 0%. Read more
  13. Damper skip - Enables a technician to skip a port on the screen. Read more

Hub Settings​

  1. Name - Name the hub
  2. IP Address - IP address of the Smart Hub. Tap on IP address and get the following options:
    • IP Configuration: Auto (DHCP enabled) / Static IP address
    • Network: Connect to Wi-Fi network when the Ethernet LAN cable is unplugged.
  3. Status - Shows if the Smart Hub is connected to the internet
  4. Users - Shows users currently linked to the system.
  5. RF Channel - Radio frequency RF channel (1-9)
  6. Main On Default - Decide how iZone RGB Smart Lights must react when the power is turned on
    • No Change
    • Previous Setting
    • Full White
  7. HomeKit - Apple Homekit unique ID
  8. Change Bridge - Use this function to to unpair Smart Downlights from a lost of missing Smart Hub
  9. Unpair Hub from CPU - Unpair Smart Hub from a CPU (C225) module.
  10. Device List - Shows a list of iZone devices currently on the RF network.
  11. Firmware Updates - Tap this button to update firmware over the air (OTA). The Smart Hub (COCBH), Screen Link Module (CSL) and CPU Module (C225) can be updated through this channel.
  12. Restart Wired Bridge - Restart the Screen Link Module (CSL)
  13. Restart Hub - Restart the Smart Hub (COCBH)
